2011 Festival Schedule

Monday July 4, 2011   Day 1

  • Travel day: Choirs arrive in Vancouver, register at Simon Fraser University and check in to accommodations.
  • Lunch will be provided in the SFU dining hall
  • Afternoon: Flag Blocking, Processional Rehearsal, and Welcome event
  • Dinner will be provided in the SFU dining hall
  • Evening: Opening Ceremonies and Concert in SFU Convocation Mall at 7:30pm
  • Post concert social event: 9:00pm

Tuesday July 5, 2011   Day 2

  • Breakfast: Treble Choirs –  on campus:  SATB Choirs – at Hotel
  • AM – Rehearsal on campus with Rollo Dilworth and Henry Leck
  • Lunch/Solo clinics/workshops/Information session on campus
  • PM – Rehearsal on campus with Rollo Dilworth and Henry Leck
  • Dinner break on campus or on the way to “sound check” for that evening’s performance groups
  • Evening concert at Saint Andrew’s Wesley Church: Songs of the World 1.

Wednesday July 6, 2011   Day 3

  • Breakfast: Treble Choirs –  on campus:  SATB Choirs – at Hotel
  • AM – Rehearsal on campus with Rollo Dilworth and Henry Leck
  • Lunchtime solo community concerts in Burnaby or surrounding communities
  • PM – Rehearsal on campus with Rollo Dilworth and Henry Leck
  • Dinner break on campus or on the way to “sound check” for that evening’s performance groups
  • Evening concert at Saint Andrew’s Wesley Church:  Songs of the World 2.

Thursday July 7, 2011   Day 4

  • Breakfast:  Treble Choirs –  on campus:  SATB Choirs – at Hotel
  • Breakout Day. All choirs explore & enjoy the day as recreation. Tourist activities to be arranged by individual choirs or through Ellison Travel. Brown-bag lunch supplied by CSICF.
  • Choirs responsible for own dinner
  • Choirs return to campus in the evening (no planned activities)

Friday July 8, 2011   Day 5

  • Breakfast: Treble Choirs –  on campus:  SATB Choirs – at Hotel
  • AM – Rehearsal on campus with Rollo Dilworth and Henry Leck
  • World Music workshops/ Composition Clinic/Rehearsal Swaps on campus
  • PM – Rehearsal on campus with Rollo Dilworth and Henry Leck
  • Dinner break on campus or on the way to “sound check” for that evening’s performance groups
  • Evening concert at Saint Andrew’s Wesley Church: Songs of the World 3

Saturday July 9, 2011   Day 6

  • Breakfast: Treble Choirs –  on campus:  SATB Choirs – at Hotel
  • All choirs depart 9:15 AM for sound and blocking rehearsals with massed choirs at Chandos Pattison Auditorium. Choirs will not return to campus until after Gala Closing Evening Concert. Blocking and massed choir rehearsals continue during the day. Lunch and dinner supplied by CSICF onsite.
  • Gala Closing Concert at Chandos Pattison Auditorium at 7:30 PM
  • Return for Farewell Party, and to say goodbyes

Sunday July 10, 2011   Day 7

  • Breakfast: Treble Choirs –  on campus:  SATB Choirs – at Hotel
  • Travel day: Choirs depart for home or extended touring
