Costs and Payments

2009 Festival Participant Fee: $795.00 Canadian dollars.

Your festival participant fee includes:

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner for the Festival days (except breakfast on June 29, July 1 dinner and lunch and dinner on July 5)
  • Accommodation at the SFU dorms (one person per room) for six nights (June 29-July 4 inclusive) - see below
  • All local transportation to and from all CSICF concerts
  • All CSICF organized activities except the Breakout Day
  • All applicable taxes

Participant Fees apply to all choristers, conductors, accompanists, professional staff members and choir chaperones who take part in the festival's activities. Participant fees include all applicable taxes.

Each choir's first non-refundable deposit of $100.00 per participant is due on or before September 30, 2008. The second non-refundable payment of $350.00 is due on December 1, 2008 and the final deposit of $345.00 is due on March 1, 2009.

Please note that your festival participant fees do not include -

  • air or ground transportation costs from your originating city to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (or the return trip)
  • sheet music for Opening Ceremonies and Gala Closing Concert (choirs can source sheet music through heir own music retailer - each choir should expect to purchase eight or nine octavos per person. The festival repertoire will be announced in Fall 2008)
  • any additional travel costs (ie: taxi) for choristers that have to arrive late or depart early
  • snacks
  • local or long distance calls
  • additional room night accommodations (these can be arranged at a cost of $37.55 per room per night)
  • breakfast (June 29), lunch (July 5), and dinner (July 1 and July 5)

Guest Accommodations Services at Simon Fraser University

Additional room nights and meals are available to choirs that arrive early or depart late. Please contact the Festival Manager to discuss your additional needs.

Rooms are single occupancy with bed linens, towels and shared bathrooms. Each room is furnished with a single bed, a dresser, a built-in desk, a task chair, bookshelves, a small fridge and a closet. Each room is wired with high speed internet (guests must provide their own laptop computers or wireless devices).

Common Room

Each floor of the tower residence comes with a common meeting space. Ideal as a casual meeting space for groups or a place to relax with friends, traditional style residence halls have community lounges with TV, DVD player and microwave.

The spacious dining hall is conveniently located adjacent to the residence towers.
