Coastal Sound
International Choral Festival 2009
June 29 to July 4, 2009
Welcome to the Vancouver area and to one of Canada's newest international choral festivals! 2009 marks the third Coastal Sound International Choral Festival, and we are thrilled to be bringing Francisco Nuñez and Adam Con to lead the 500 young voices of the massed choirs. These two conductors each bring amazing energy for choral music, something that will live on in your singers' memories for many years. The Coastal Sound International Choral Festival is for children's and youth choirs, both treble and SATB voicings. In a schedule balancing solo choir performances in the Vancouver area with massed choir rehearsals with our outstanding Principal Conductors, the purpose of this festival is to reinforce a love of choral singing and development of skills and experience with exciting repertoire. Choirs will sing for the public and for each other in an encouraging, non-competitive environment. The participating host choirs are the Coastal Sound Music Children's Choir (treble) and the Coastal Sound Youth Choir (mixed choir). To learn more about Coastal Sound Music Academy, visit:
